ABOUT  VIC Fangio

Vic Fangio is out as the defensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins

He is now the top target for the Philadelphia Eagles' vacant defensive coordinator position

Fangio, 65, joined the Dolphins as the NFL's highest-paid defensive coordinator last year

His defensive scheme took some time to sink in, but his defense was third in the NFL in sacks with 56

Fangio worked with the Eagles for two weeks last year as a consultant, helping them prepare for Super Bowl LVII, before eventually joining the Dolphins

Fangio was the head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2019-2021. In his final season in Denver, the Broncos were third in scoring defense and eighth in total defense

His time with the 49ers didn't produce a ring, but it did bring just about everything else. It didn’t hurt that in that four-year span, Fangio coached 17 Pro Bowl selections and eight All-Pro performers

Fangio has been a defensive coordinator for five different NFL franchises, including the Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, and Carolina Panthers

He has spent 22 of the past 28 seasons as either a defensive coordinator or head coach

Fangio has a reputation for being a defensive mastermind and has led top-10 NFL defenses nine times
